Our Story

The GFG Foundation was established in the UK as a charity in February 2017 to develop the skills needed to help people pursue careers in engineering, metals and renewable energy.

The Foundation developed its first national partnership in the UK with the highly acclaimed Industrial Cadets programme, inspired by HRH King Charles III and delivered by the Engineering Development Trust.

The Foundation was established in Australia in 2019 and now runs highly successful student programmes in South Australia (Whyalla), NSW (Newcastle) and Tasmania (George Town).

These programmes are run in partnership with CSIRO and Prince’s Trust Australia.

In 2021, the Foundation was established in Romania and launched into the Czech Republic the following year.

The aim is to expand the GFG Foundation into all countries where the GFG Alliance has a business presence.
