This year saw the 20th edition of the Colours of Ostrava, a unique annual music festival held in the backdrop of Ostrava’s industrial monument Dolní oblast Vítkovice.
Supported by LIBERTY Ostrava and the GFG Foundation Czech Republic, the 4-day festival in July attracted tens of thousands visitors. As well as the music, theatre productions and lectures, visitors joined the LIBERTY Dance for life zone and helped raise funds for Ostrava Flamingos para hockey team by dancing to the choreography of the dancers on stage. The goal is to copy their movements as best as they can, and dance as much as possible, to gain the highest amount that LIBERTY Ostrava donates to the Ostrava para hockey team Flamingos Ostrava.
The fun was not only provided through dancing, but visitors to the GFG Foundation tent could also interact with the para hockey players during goal shooting training and through our unique table para hockey. They could also enjoy the opportunity to get to know more about the GFG Foundation.
LIBERTY Ostrava employee Richard Cicák, attended the festival and commented: “As every year, Colours offered great performances of music stars from all over the world. In addition to seeing interesting performances, listening to lectures, and sampling all sorts of food and drink, we helped local para-hockey team Flamingos Ostrava through the Liberty Dance for Life stage and enjoyed learning more about the plans for the GFG Foundation.”
